At Arundel Federal, we’re dedicated to improving the quality of life for those within the footprint of our Maryland branches in Annapolis, Brooklyn, Glen Burnie, Pasadena and Severna Park. Making communities better and stronger is something we’ve been doing since 1906 and has become a part of our identity as an institution. When things get tough, we double down to make a difference. When things are thriving, we all succeed.
Organizations/groups we have supported include:
• Chesapeake Arts Center (CAC) - Each year, Arundel Federal and the Chesapeake Arts Center partner to host the Chip in for the Arts golf tournament that raises money and supports various classes at CAC. Proceeds from the event fund CAC programs including affordable and free arts activities for at-risk students and families in the greater Brooklyn Park MD region.
• Drink at The Well – The Bank attends various events supporting the good works of The Well and Hon’s Honey. Proceeds from the events support women survivors through life and workforce development, childcare services, safe residential housing, and their outreach programs.
• Annual Fall Food Drives – Every October for more than 15 years, we collect non-perishable food items at all of our branches that are then donated to local organizations and food pantries including SPAN, St. John Lutheran Church, Harundale Presbyterian Church, North County emergency Outreach Network (NCEON) and more. We feel that everyone deserves a warm, home cooked meal, especially during the holiday season.
• Annual Holiday Toy Drives – Since the early 2000's, we have been accepting new, unwrapped toy donations for the less fortunate children in our area. Donations are distributed via the South Baltimore Network, Happy Helpers for the Homeless, Toys for Tots, BWMC Pediatric Patients, and more. Everyone is welcome to stop into any of our branches during the month of December to join in the efforts and help spread holiday cheer to those who need it most during the holiday season!
• City of Refuge, Baltimore –Once or twice a year, Arundel Federal Savings Bank employees volunteer their time helping in the food pantry sorting, organizing and distributing food for local families in need.
• The Complete Player Charity (TCP), Glen Burnie – We proudly sponsor TCP’s annual gala, volunteer at their annual charity golf tournament, and several AFSB employees volunteer their time participating in after-school mentorship programs.
• Local Chambers and Associations – Arundel Federal supports our local chambers by attending and sponsoring many local events focused on community growth. We are a member of the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce, Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, Pasadena Business Association and Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce.
• Local Schools & Community Centers – Employees have participated in Career Days, Student Financial Literacy Classes, mock interview programs and more. We have also provided free financial literacy classes about credit, finances, home buying, fraud, and more. We believe everyone should have a strong foundation in financial literacy.
• Hope for All, Glen Burnie –Each year, Arundel Federal’s lending department sponsors HOPE’s annual bowling event alongside donating to HOPE personally.
